How restless do you want to sleep?

12th IMS Breakfast "Asset Management - Another Management System" in cooperation with TÜV-Rheinland Akademie GmbH.

Assets determine the value of a company. They include buildings, machinery, equipment, test equipment and infrastructure as well as knowledge, patents, data, software and employees. Although the management of assets is required in all management system standards, the process of asset management, e.g. in accordance with the ISO 55000ff. and DIN EN 60300 ff. standards, is hardly known in companies. Not an easy topic to digest at our 12th IMS breakfast, which we once again organized in cooperation with TÜV-Rheinland Akademie GmbH.

Our expert, Prof. Dr. Stefan Kornhuber, explained the advantages of systematic asset management, including in the context of reliable asset design and asset management, risk management and the integration of management systems, from a theoretical and practical perspective. The depth of regulation in a company always depends on "... how soundly you want to sleep," said Prof. Kornhuber, summarizing the need for operational asset management. Well-functioning asset management holds great potential for companies in terms of the efficient strategic use of resources and, as we established at the end, is actually the foundation and not the icing on the cake of an (integrated) management system.

The next IMS breakfast will take place on 17.01.2019. Here we will be looking at the revision of the auditing guidelines, ISO 19011, as well as typical pitfalls in internal/external auditing.
