Declaration on accessibility

This declaration was issued on October 1, 2020 by the Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences (represented by: Rector Prof. Dr.-Ing. Alexander Kratzsch, Theodor-Körner-Allee 16, 02763 Zittau); it concerns the website www.hszg.de and its subdomains.

The Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences (HSZG) endeavors to ensure that its website complies with the law on the implementation of Directive (EU) 2016/2102 on barrier-free access to the websites and mobile applications of public authorities (Barrierefreie-Websites-Gesetz - BfWebG) of 10. July 2018 (Federal Law Gazette I p. 117) in conjunction with the Ordinance on the Creation of Barrier-Free Information Technology in accordance with the Disability Equality Act (Barrier-Free Information Technology Ordinance - BITV 2.0) of 12.09.2011 (Federal Law Gazette p. 738).

The declaration on accessibility applies exclusively to the website of the HSZG and its subdomains (central WebCMS), which can be accessed via the link hszg.de.

This website was implemented according to the responsive web design approach. However, it is not yet fully compatible with the technical requirements of the BITV 2.0 regulation. We are working hard to improve the accessibility of the site.

The declaration of accessibility is based on a test according to the BIKOSAX test procedure of the German Center for Accessible Reading (dzb lesen). The BIKOSAX assessment procedure consists of 49 test steps and includes the WCAG test and the BITV 2.0 test.
Due to the following incompatibilities and exceptions, the websites are only partially compatible with the requirements of the BfWebG in conjunction with the BITV 2.0.

Non-accessible content:

  • Moving content (sliders) cannot be switched off.
  • Alternative texts for images and descriptions for tables are missing in some cases.
  • Recorded videos are only partially subtitled.
  • Audio description or full text alternatives for videos are not available.
  • Published documents (e.g. PDF documents, forms, brochures, flyers) are not fully available in an accessible form.
  • The syntax is not correct.
  • Some data tables are not structured correctly, some table cells are not assigned correctly.

The HSZG has a very extensive and diverse website with a large number of documents. This was published before September 23, 2018 and in parts does not correspond to the current state of accessibility. We are continuously working on converting the web pages and documents to an accessible website.
