Family-friendly university

The Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences attaches great importance to equal opportunities. It is therefore committed to ensuring equal opportunities for women and men in its mission statement.

It sees the realization of a family-friendly university as an important instrument for creating equal opportunities. Both at the Zittau and Görlitz campuses, the HSZG is committed to creating family-friendly study and working conditions and to achieving a good balance between study/work and private life.

• Zittau students and staff have the opportunity to have their children looked after at the "Knirpshausen e.V." childcare facility in the immediate vicinity of the university.
• For events with a limited number of participants, student parents are given priority.
• At the university in Görlitz there are changing tables in the spacious disabled toilets either on the first floor of the "Blue Box" or in the canteen.
• In Zittau, there is also a changing table in the spacious disabled toilet in the canteen.
• Both in Zittau and in Görlitz, high chairs are always available in the canteen for eating with children. If you bring your own baby food, it will be heated by the canteen staff. For children of pre-school age there is a children's portion at a price of 1.00 Euro!
