Information on the Saxon Transparency Act

The Saxon Transparency Act of August 19, 2022 (Sächs-GVBl. p. 486) has been in force since January 1, 2023. It grants every person a right of access to the information available at a body subject to transparency in the Free State of Saxony, unless an exception applies (transparency entitlement).

Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences is such a body subject to transparency pursuant to Section 4  (3) sentence 1 no. 7   Saxon Transparency Act . The transparency obligation of the Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences only includes information on the name of third-party funding providers, the amount of third-party funding and the duration of completed research projects financed with third-party funding.

In future, certain information will be made available on the electronic transparency platform of the Free State of Saxony, which is currently still under construction.

For further information, an application in written or electronic form can be submitted to the Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences. As a rule, the application does not have to be justified. However, the request should be justified in accordance with Section 10 (3) of the Saxon Transparency Act if the interests of third parties worthy of protection are affected. A sample application and further information can be found on the website of the Saxon Data Protection and Transparency Officer
