Scientists from various disciplines have their say and show how exciting science can be.
The lectures are aimed at children aged eight to 12. They last about three quarters of an hour. Participation is free of charge and at your own risk. Just like at a real university, the young students also receive a student ID card in which they can collect participation stamps. If they collect as many stamps as possible, they will receive a children's academy diploma at the end of the semester.
All lectures in Görlitz are simultaneously translated for Polish children. Parents are not allowed in the lecture hall during the lectures. The Görlitz Children's Academy is a joint event of the Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences and the Senckenberg Museum of Natural History in Görlitz. In Görlitz, the lectures take place on Fridays at 4 p.m., alternating between the university and the Senckenberg Museum of Natural History Görlitz.
In Zittau, the lectures take place in the new lecture hall building on the university campus.
