The five Saxon universities of applied sciences (HAW) in Mittweida, Zwickau, Zittau/Görlitz, Dresden and Leipzig have been working together in teaching and research since 2007.
With the launch of the Saxony5 transfer network in 2018, they have also been pooling their expertise and resources to fulfill their third mission - research-based transfer. The basis for this is a joint transfer strategy for the intelligent networking of knowledge flows in a "Smart University Grid".
As part of the project, a wide range of transfer activities were carried out from 2018 to 2022 as part of the Co-Creation Labs, which are well documented here: https://saxony5.de/aktuelles/alle/1.html
In 2023, the follow-up project "Saxony5 - Sustained University" Grid, which continues to receive funding from the "Innovative University" program line, was launched.
The aim here is to focus even more on gaining knowledge about how good transfer can succeed. To this end, transfer modes have been defined in which the participating universities focus on and analyze different forms of transfer. At Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences, the "tangible transfer spaces" are being investigated and further developed.
Among other things, CELSIUZ(www.celsiuz.de), which was set up during the first project period, is being used for this purpose.
