The institute's name says it all: Interdisciplinary cooperation is a top priority at our research institute. Researchers from the health, care, social and economic sciences, computer science, gerontology and psychology work together to investigate current issues relating to health, ageing, work and technology.
In doing so, they contribute their own disciplinary strengths as well as openness to the perspectives of other disciplines. The guiding principle of our institute is that only together can we research the challenges of the major megatrends of our time - population ageing, digitalization, climate change and the resulting consequences for individuals and society - and develop proposals for overcoming them.
This guiding principle is also expressed in our research approach of co-creation. We research the use of technical innovations based on human needs and preferences - together with the target groups of our research! Technical innovation is important, but the focus is always on people: health and quality of life in old age and at work - and how digital innovations can help with this.
