A new Maternity Protection Act has been in force since January 1, 2018. This also contains more extensive regulations for female students. Maternity protection is therefore generally granted without further applications. However, the prerequisite for this is that the Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences is aware of the pregnancy!

The period of study is a phase of personal development that is almost inevitably associated with crises. Difficulties can arise at the beginning of your studies, during the course of your studies and during the time of your final thesis. The Studentenwerk Dresden offers psychological counseling.
Topics that frequently come up in our counseling sessions include doubts about continuing your studies, work difficulties, exam anxiety, lack of self-esteem, relationship problems or problems in your social environment and problems with alcohol, drugs and online addiction. Appointments are made by e-mail.
In addition, counseling appointments can be arranged for the counseling center in Dresden!

Nevertheless, it can happen that not everything runs smoothly and you need independent and objective advice on social or financial difficulties in student life. The Studentenwerk's social counseling service is the first point of contact for this. It is subject to confidentiality and is open to all students at Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences.
