The Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences is looking to fill a part-time position (30 hours/week) in the Department of Studies and International Affairs at the earliest possible date as a

Admission Office Clerk (m/f/d)

- Reference: 66-2024 DSI International -

to be filled on a permanent basis.

The post holder has the following tasks in particular:

  • Advising prospective students, applicants and students (focus on foreign university admission), both verbally on site, on the phone and via e-mail,
  • Cooperation with the Registrar's Office of the Studienkolleg and coordination with the Saxon universities of applied sciences with regard to the admission of applicants to the Studienkolleg; support in the organization of introductory and information events for students, cooperation in the admission tests,
  • Professional preparation of the application portal for the Studienkolleg,
  • Processing of study applications, implementation of the matriculation regulations, in particular with regard to foreign applicants with special admission requirements (direct studies) and implementation of the procedural regulations (Studienkolleg),
  • Cooperation with the Foreigners' Registration Office, Residents' Registration Office, Health Insurance, Foreigners' Council, etc,
  • Administrative support for international students,
  • Maintaining statistics for international students and students attending the Kolleg,
  • Technical cooperation in digitization projects in the area of Campus Management System.

The position is suitable for further development to head of department.

The following knowledge and skills are required

  • Degree in the field of economics or administrative sciences,
  • professional experience and knowledge in a university context or in the field of administrative processes in general,
  • very good knowledge of English and possibly other languages,
  • intercultural skills and experience in communicating with different stakeholder groups,
  • excellent self-management skills,
  • comprehensive knowledge of MS Office software,
  • Affinity for digital tools and media.

In addition, the following are desirable

  • Knowledge of the special features of the admission of international students, in particular students from colleges (e.g. Saxon Higher Education Act, ZAB, BAMF)
  • Experience in the context of student counseling,
  • Experience in the supervision of international students,
  • Experience in event management,
  • Experience in working with authorities.
