Immigration as an instrument for recruiting skilled workers?

Foundation Day on November 15, 2024 at the EH Freiburg

Begin 15. November 2024 - 09:30 Uhr
End 15. November 2024 - 15:00 Uhr

Against the backdrop of advancing demographic change, almost all areas of the social and healthcare sector are affected by an even greater shortage of skilled workers in the future. One instrument to counter the shortage of skilled workers is the recruitment of skilled workers from abroad. For a pluralistic society, the immigration of skilled workers is associated with opportunities.

At the same time, it also presents challenges: for employment agencies and clients and, not least, for the immigrant professionals themselves. Dr. Monique Ritter will outline these challenges for immigrant nursing staff and focus on the problem of everyday racism as part of the introductory lecture.
