Universities should promote diversity. For the week of equal opportunities, three aspects will be brought into focus:
1) The support of students with special needs. A barrier-free environment should be available for them that is accessible to all, regardless of individual challenges.
2) The promotion of intercultural competence in teaching. Teachers can create an inclusive learning environment by developing intercultural sensitivity.
3.) The diversity of teaching materials. How to integrate different perspectives and backgrounds into the curriculum to reflect a broad spectrum of voices and thus create a more inclusive learning environment is discussed.
In addition to active exchange, successful practical examples will provide inspiration. Initiatives and projects will be presented that have already brought about positive changes in terms of equal opportunities and diversity, including at the HSCG.
The Equal Opportunities Week invites teaching staff, employees and students. Together, ideas can be exchanged and ways can be found to make the educational landscape at the HSZG even more inclusive and diverse. Equal opportunities and diversity are central building blocks of a modern university community that enable the participation of various stakeholders. Join us in celebrating Equal Opportunities Week with Teaching Day! This special week provides a great opportunity to highlight and recognize the importance of good teaching. Above all, Equal Opportunities Week serves as a platform for exchange between lecturers and students. In addition, lectures, workshops and discussion opportunities are offered during this week to help improve the quality of teaching.
