We welcome Eric Kluge to the iTN

As of January 01, 2021, we welcome Dipl.Chem (FH) Eric Kluge as a new research associate at iTN.

Mr. Dipl. Chem. (FH) Eric Kluge  will strengthen our team in the field of plastics analysis and work in the BMBF-funded project Lander³ - Recycling.

We wish him all the best for his new job!

His personal career took him from his vocational training and work in Munich via his civilian service in Olbersdorf back to Upper Lusatia. He studied chemistry at the Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences and successfully completed his studies with a diploma thesis at the Fraunhofer IKTS in Dresden on the subject of "Corrosion behavior of SiC diamond composite materials in aqueous solutions".

He then worked in various positions at Fraunhofer IKTS in Dresden from 2013.

Section 1: 4 years at the Pöhl Bioenergy Application Center, site manager for technology and laboratory. Pilot biogas plant 10m3 scale, digestion technology, analytics laboratory.

Various projects on energetic biomass utilization, comminution and dewatering technology, gas treatment and utilization, substrate evaluations on biogas potential, plant flexibilization, consumption-oriented biogas production and automation, reactor optimizations to improve mixing quality and energy-saving potential of agitator components.

Section 2: 3 years at the Dresden Institute Center, responsibility for plant engineering, analysis and testing of various projects for water treatment, wastewater treatment, nutrient recovery and contract research for the treatment of poorly degradable substances/substance flows from chemical plants, sewage treatment plants and the food industry using EGSB reactors and downstream purification stages (aerobic, chemical). Ultrafiltration, nanofiltration and reverse osmosis. Membrane extractions and distillations. Photocatalytic total oxidation of micropollutants and drug residues from wastewater using titanium dioxide-based ceramic foams. UV A/B/C treatment plants.

Projects for soil reclamation of AFB (overburden conveyor bridge) soils, tailings pile remediation and treatment of mining water. Material utilization of HTC wastewater (plant residues, sewage sludge, fermentation residues) for biogas production and nutrient recovery, C- N -P. Simultaneous precipitation and recovery of phosphorus, ammonium and magnesium as MAP (struvite) from various material flows (waste water, fermentation residues, process water).

Biogas desulphurization using nickel-based foams with iron oxide coating.

Process development and production of fermentation residue-based fibers for the paper industry and application concepts (mulch paper, flower pots). Testing the material use of plant residues for bio-based disposable tableware.
