Research colloquium on the topic of "valorization of intangible cultural heritage" in the German-Slavic context, more precisely in Lower Lusatia in Lower Sorbia. In the field of tension between tradition and the future, intangible cultural heritage (ICH) has multiple meanings. Whether this also comes to bear in the structural change of Lusatia depends, among other things, on how sustainable the "cells" of cultural heritage will be in the future. The project is specifically about local history rooms/museums in this region, which see themselves as sponsors and mediators of IKE.
An inventory of 20 institutions and an initial round of workshops have already taken place. A strategy and action plan should be ready by fall 2020.
The project - see also overall project and module WP3 - will be presented and discussed in terms of the challenges at the current stage of work.
The speaker Gregor Scheider has been working at the Sorbian Institute, Cottbus branch, since 10/2019.
