The tasks of the TRAWOS Institute also include promoting young talent and networking skills and ideas from science and practice. This requires spaces and formats to facilitate exchange. The TRAWOS colloquium therefore takes place once a month. It is primarily aimed at members and employees of the institute as well as students. Current research projects (from research internships to multi-year studies) as well as current (socio-)political and scientific issues with regional relevance are presented and discussed. Beyond the immediate pressure of commercialization, this is an opportunity to develop ideas, receive feedback or forge alliances.
M.A. Jan Schaller (HSZG/TRAWOS) will speak on the topic "Balance of power within the European migration regime: hotspots as places of (informal) negotiation?"
The political scientist is currently doing his doctorate on the above topic at the Institute for Migration Research and Intercultural Studies at the University of Osnabrück.
