Taiwanese cultural event and themed book exhibition to kick off the Intercultural Week in the district of Görlitz

The Taipei Representation in Berlin and the Ministry of Culture, Taiwan, in cooperation with the district of Görlitz, Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences and the city of Zittau, invite you to a special cultural highlight that is all about Taiwanese culture. On September 22, 2024, the Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences will host the Taiwan Day followed by a Taiwan-themed book exhibition at the Christian Weise Library in Zittau and the Görlitz City Library from September 23 to 29, 2024.
To kick off the Intercultural Week, Taiwan Day promises a varied afternoon full of cultural and informative highlights. From 2 p.m. to 5 p.m., visitors to the Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences (Building IV, Theodor Körner Allee 8, Zittau) can expect exciting insights into Taiwan's diverse culture and dynamic economy. A musical performance and welcoming speeches by high-ranking guests will take place on stage. The event will also provide valuable information about Taiwan's education system, especially for students interested in studying in Taiwan. Schools will also have the opportunity to make contacts and initiate partnerships with Taiwanese schools.
Outside, the program will be complemented by various cultural activities. Guests can discover the variety of Taiwanese teas at a tea tasting, try out their artistic skills in a calligraphy workshop or enjoy Taiwanese delicacies.
On the Monday following the cultural event, the Görlitz City Library and the Christian Weise Library in Zittau will open their doors for a Taiwan-themed book exhibition. From September 23 to 29, 2024, books provided by the Taipei Representation in Berlin and the Ministry of Culture, Taiwan, will be presented. This exhibition also takes place as part of the Intercultural Week and offers exciting insights into the culture, history and social life of Taiwan. The organizers cordially invite you to take part in these unique events and experience Taiwan in a variety of ways.
