Daniel Sauer, M.A. (Görlitz):

Collective residential property (working title)

When it comes to housing, it is not only the (interior) architecture that changes over time, but also the forms of ownership. In addition to the usual renting, leasing or owning as an individual, there are other approaches. They are also associated with certain ideas of community. Mr. Sauer will present the so-called Mietshäuser Syndikat (MHS) as one of these examples. This initiative has its origins in the communes of the 1968 movement and in the squatter scene of the 1980s and 1990s. In the meantime, more than 100 communal housing projects with over 2,000 residents have developed, including one in Görlitz.
