On September 28 and 29, 2024, the GAT presented itself as part of the Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences with a stand where assistance technologies and an age simulation suit could be tried out.

On September 28 and 29, 2024, regional companies from the districts of Görlitz and Bautzen - including the Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences - presented themselves at the trade fair for work, training and study. Young people were able to test assistance technologies for senior citizens and learn about everyday challenges in old age at the GAT Institute's AAL Lab stand.
The AAL Lab was working in cooperation with the regional company T(r)agwerk, which is committed to the development and use of new technologies for the professional world and their application. The aim of the GAT Institute of the Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences and the Tragwerk(e) is to make training in Lusatia more attractive and thus make a contribution to the shortage of skilled workers.
With the stand at the Oberlausitzer Karrieretage, the GAT would like to draw attention to the opportunities offered by technologies in the field of nursing and gerontology and promote studying at the Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences. Visitors will have the opportunity to visit the AAL lab via a virtual tour and test current assistance technologies for senior citizens and talk about them.
Visitors also had the opportunity to try out the GERT age simulation suit. The GERonTological simulator makes it possible for younger people to experience the typical limitations of older people.
The days offered a good opportunity to talk to young people and get them excited about technology in old age.
