Doctorate after FH degree
There is still a rumor circulating around the country that it is supposedly not possible to write a doctoral thesis after graduating from a university of applied sciences. This is not true - on dies academicus (Wednesday, 5.6.24), Dr. Monique Ritter, representing the Chair of Gender, Diversity and Social Inequality, and Prof. Dr. habil. Rudolf Schmitt will offer a question and answer session on the topic of "Doctorate after graduating from a UAS" from 4.00-5.30 p.m. (Room 1.05). The event aims to inform those interested in doing a doctorate after their Master's degree, but also to provide students from Bachelor's degree courses with information for later planning. Dr. Monique Ritter and Prof. Dr. Rudolf Schmitt would particularly like to motivate women and various* interested parties from non-academic households and with migration experience to participate. The event is based on the online encyclopedia article on doctoral studies in social work:
https://www.socialnet.de/lexikon/Promotion-Soziale-Arbeit, which should be read beforehand. Despite the title, it does not only apply to social work - all degree programs of the faculty are welcome. Graduates from other faculties and universities are also welcome! - Prof. Dr. habil. Rudolf Schmitt as doctoral supervisor and Dr. Monique Ritter are also responsible for the topic - just ask at r.schmitt@hszg.de or monique.ritter@hszg.de. General information on doctoral funding at the Faculty of Social Sciences can be found here: https://f-s.hszg.de/fakultaet/promotionsfoerderung
