Living with what nature provides, preserving prosperity and at the same time leaving a planet worth living on for future generations. Without question, this is one of the greatest challenges facing mankind. We are tackling this global challenge on a small scale through innovative ideas, outstanding technologies and dedicated teamwork.
Scientists at Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences are working across departments in close cooperation with predominantly regional partner companies on solutions for the resource-efficient and competitive processing and recycling of natural fiber-reinforced plastics (NFRP). The focus here is on providing efficient technologies and opening up new areas of application for these sustainable and lightweight materials.
The LaNDER³ hall, the new interdisciplinary research technology center of the HSZG, brings together excellent research and economic interests in one place. The entire process chain of natural fibre-reinforced plastics can be mapped and holistically researched in a very small space: from fibre extraction, fibre preparation and functionalization to the energy-efficient production of NFRP components, recycling and reuse.
