Invitation and registration | Invitation and registration

Begin 05. June 2019 - Ganztägig

With the AMiCE Info-Market to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Zittau University of Applied Sciences, today's Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences is bringing current digitalization topics, such as Industry 4.0, to the city of Zittau. Companies, research institutions and interested citizens are invited to take part in specific specialist presentations on Industry 4.0 and, in this context, on additive manufacturing (3D printing) and its possibilities as well as the circular economy, and to engage in interdisciplinary discussions. Together, we will shed light on the current state of research and convey a picture of the near future.

With the AMiCE Info-Market for the 50th anniversary celebration of the Engineering University Zittau, today's Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences brings current topics of digitization, such as industry 4.0, to the city of Zittau. Companies, research institutions and interested citizens are invited to take part in specific lectures on industry 4.0. In this context additive manufacturing (3D printing) possibilities as well as the recycling economy will be discussed in an interdisciplinary way. Together we will show the current state of research and present a picture of the near future.

To the registration

3D printing is revolutionizing production technology. In addition to mass production or small batches, the trend is also continuously moving towards individual one-off production. Customers either configure the product online and then have it sent to them via parcel service providers, or they expect highly complex shapes at a price and at a speed that poses immense challenges for traditional toolmaking.

Additive manufacturing also poses challenges, such as the increased consumption or material consumption of various plastics (e.g. PLA or ABS). There is therefore great potential for socio-ecological research aimed at developing strategies to solve sustainability problems. This requires interdisciplinary and problem-solving-oriented cooperation between researchers, producers, consumers and legislators. The advantages and disadvantages must always be kept in focus for the sustainable development of 3D printing technology and the associated circular economy

The above topics will be examined and discussed in more detail in the AMiCE Dialog.
