The Neisse-Elektro Olympiad for electrical engineering is being held for the 30th time. Once again this year, twenty pupils from Poland, the Czech Republic and Germany are invited to take part in the STEM competition.
Registration takes place online and usually in coordination with the physics teachers of the schools in the Neisse Euroregion.
The award ceremony as part of "Neisse-Elektro 2024" will take place on March 16, 2024 at 2:30 pm in the Bürgersaal of Zittau Town Hall. Prime Minister Michael Kretschmer will also take part in the award ceremony. After being welcomed by the Mayor of Zittau, Thomas Zenker, the Minister President will give a welcome address. Other speakers include the Marshal of the Lower Silesian Voivodeship, Cezary Przybylski, and the Captain of the Liberec District, Martin Půta.
The award ceremony will be held by Prof. Dr.-Ing. Cezary Dzienis from the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences.
Background:
The Olympiad has been held at the invitation of Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences (HSZG) since 1995. Every spring, 20 students from Poland, 20 students from the Czech Republic and 20 students from Germany are invited to take part in the challenging electrical engineering competition.
The event is organized by a working group with schools from the Czech Republic, Poland and Germany together with the HSZG. The pupils are being prepared for the competition at their schools. Two preparatory courses were also held at the university in the run-up to the event. There was an experimental lecture in the high-voltage hall and a workshop on calculating and measuring circuits with resistors.
