As part of the project, the Department of Ecology at the Faculty of Natural and Environmental Sciences is looking for a person with an interest in an academic career whose qualifications do not fully meet the requirements for eligibility for appointment in accordance with Section 59 (1) numbers 1-4 of the Saxon Higher Education Act. The scope of duties can be individually adapted to generate a focus on research activities or teaching experience, for example. The position includes the following tasks in particular:

• Conducting courses (lecture, seminar, practical course, excursions) in the field of (geo)ecology/vegetation science/botany to the extent of 4 SWS / semester in consultation with the faculty,
• Participation in teaching and laboratory organization in the field of ecology and botany,
• Research work in the field of ecology and experimental botany with the possibility of completing a doctorate in consultation with the faculty,
• Evaluation, summary and documentation of the work results,
• Publication or participation in the publication of research results,
• Presentation of project results at (international) conferences.

The following knowledge and skills are required

• Completed scientific university studies in the field of ecology,
• Knowledge and experience in the field of vegetation science, botany or landscape planning,
• a working knowledge of foreign languages (especially English).

In addition, the following are desirable

• Willingness to complete a doctorate during the project period,
• three years of professional experience in the application of scientific knowledge and methods outside a university (or willingness to gain this experience during the project period),
• didactic skills and experience in university teaching.
