Laboratory Engineer Computer Science (m/f/d) - Reference: 79-2024 EI-LI Info -

The position essentially involves the following tasks:

• Installation, configuration and operation of hardware for the faculty's PC pools at the Zittau site,
• Recording needs and requirements for software and hardware in coordination with the lecturers,
• Provision and maintenance of software within the PC pools for teaching purposes,
• Advice, support and training of users as well as preparation of necessary documentation and information on the area of responsibility,
• Ensuring and monitoring compliance with occupational safety in the PC pools, including instructing users,
• Maintaining the faculty's website using the Typo3 content management system in close coordination with the Public Relations department,
• Supporting the faculty with technical building management,
• Support with representative tasks at both locations.

The following knowledge and skills are required

• University degree in the field of computer science or a related discipline,
• practical professional experience in
  • Hardware procurement and maintenance,
  • client administration,
  • software distribution and patch management,
  • network administration,
  • Website maintenance using a content management system,
  • Creation of IT documentation,
• Knowledge of higher programming languages such as C/C++, Python, Java,
• a working knowledge of English.

• Knowledge of occupational safety,
