Hydrogen - a network of the future

At the Upper Lusatian Energy Symposium and Zittau Energy Seminar, the diverse use of hydrogen as part of the future energy system was discussed.

"Hydrogen - a network of the future!" Around 60 participants came together on November 7 and 8 to discuss this topic in the impressive historical ambience of the Bürgersaal of Zittau's town hall. In 14 presentations, representatives of regional and national companies and scientific institutions analyzed and discussed the use of hydrogen as a part of the future energy system as part of the Upper Lusatian Energy Symposium & of the Zittau Energy Seminar.

In addition to the technical aspects, the focus was on the economic as well as the social and socio-scientific aspects. With this event, the Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences offered a platform for the presentation, discussion and exchange of experience regarding the issues surrounding the use of hydrogen as an energy storage medium, transport medium and in conversion processes (production, use).

Change in energy supply

The energy seminar is an independent knowledge platform for energy suppliers, industrial companies, commercial, retail and service companies as well as decision-makers from local authorities, administrations and public institutions. Free of commercial interests, the practice-oriented seminar contributes to advancing the change in energy supply in the area of conflict between economic efficiency, environmental compatibility and security of supply.

The Upper Lusatian Energy Symposium addresses the challenges associated with structural change in the region and addresses current issues every two years. It offers a platform for interdisciplinary exchange between the region's innovation drivers and for strengthening cooperation.

The "Hydrogen - a network of the future" symposium was aimed at all companies and institutions associated with the successful implementation of the topic from an economic and engineering perspective. It provided a platform for the presentation/discussion of current issues from industry and research. The focus was on four main topics arising from the challenges of the changing demands of the market. The presentations served as impulses for the discussion of current and future challenges and solutions. Experiences were exchanged in an open atmosphere and forms of cooperation in research and teaching were discussed.
