  • Target group

    Specialists (psychologists, educators, social workers, social and remedial educators) in "educational support" facilities, youth welfare offices, counseling facilities, specialists from clinics.

    The course can be attended by 20 people.

  • Admission requirements

    Degree as a state-recognized educator, state-recognized social worker or social pedagogue, psychologist (others on request).
    Professional field of work in which the implementation of systemic ideas and approaches is or can become possible.

  • Aims of the training

    By teaching systemic thinking and systemic methods, the participants' professional competence in the field of "educational support" is expanded. The implementation of systemic work in daily professional practice is accompanied by a process.

  • Contents of the training

    - Fundamentals of the systemic approach
    - Systemic conversation with children, adolescents, parents and other participants (questioning techniques: e.g. contextual questions, resource-oriented/circular/hypothetical/oxical questions Context questions, resource-oriented/circular/hypothetical/paradoxical questions, questions about differences and exceptions, reinterpretations, miracle questions, scaling PELZ model)
    - Help plan discussion, goal definitions (SMART)
    - Appreciative understanding of family systems
    - Appreciative exploration for children "treasure hunt" - finding resources
    - Attitude: Appreciation, solution and resource orientation, impartiality
    - Intervention options
    - Genogram, photogram, resource wheel
    - Shaping relationships
    - Importance of rituals
    - Working with objects (family board, sculpture, resource animals)
    - Externalizing
    - Parent coaching, dealing with adolescent violence (according to Haim Omer and Arist v. Schlippe)
    - Parent training - "Making parents strong"
    - Working with stories and metaphors
    - Inner family
    - Biographical methods (e.g. Time Line) - Past, present and future as a resource
    - Systemic programs ("I can do it"), games (e.g. thinking, feeling, acting storytelling game) and computer programs (children's wizard Bam)
    - Reflection on implementation with children and parents.

  • Methods

    A wide variety of methods - teaching, demonstrations, role plays, small group work, video sequences (including Arist v. Schlippe, Haim Omer, Insoo Kim Berg, Steve de Shazer), reflection and, of course, practicing, practicing, practicing!

    The following personal contributions are required: 50 units of intervision (self-learning in small groups), 25 units of literature study, and participants will be provided with extensive teaching material as well as course and photo documentation.     03.-05.02.2022: 3rd module "Family board, miracle question"
    05.-07.05.2022: 4th module "Initial interview, time line"
    30.06.-02.07.2022: 5th module "Rituals, narrative approach"

    9 a.m. - 6 p.m. each day
    150 training units of 45 minutes each

    Following the basic course, graduates of the basic course have the opportunity to participate in the advanced course to become a systemic consultant (150 units). The schedule for the advanced course is currently as follows:

    06.-08.10.2022: "Role" module
    05.-07.12.2022: "Supervision" module
    02.-04.02.2023: Module "Specific topic"
    04.-06.05.2023: "Grief and loss" module
    06.-08.07.2023: Final module

  • Completion of further training

    Participation in all blocks will result in the Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences certificate "Systemic work for professionals in child and youth welfare - educational support". Completion of the basic course entitles you to participate in the following advanced courses at Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences:

    Advanced course level I:
    "Systemic Consultant" (*DGsP) - one-year; completion with university and umbrella association certificate

    Advanced course level II:
    "Systemic solution-oriented short-term therapy, family therapy and counseling"
    "Trauma pedagogy - trauma and its consequences: Options for action in education"
    "Systemic supervision and coaching"

    The umbrella association certificates DGsP, SG and DGfB can be obtained for a fee.

  • Costs for the basic course

    1,450.00 Total price for the modules of the basic course, the university certificate and the participant documents. There are costs of € 290.00 per module.

    Invoices are issued individually by arrangement. Monthly installments or partial payments, also module by module, are possible . For participants with a grant from the SAB (see funding), an interim certificate (partial certificate) will be issued for the use of the grant.

    Participants may incur further costs of approx. 100.00 euros for additional umbrella organization certificates.

  • Promotion

    Saxon participants can apply for a subsidy towards the total costs from the Sächsische Aufbaubank. You can find the conditions of the Saxon training voucher at www.sab.sachsen.de. As far as we know, the funding is still available for the further training modules until 30.06.2022. However, the application must be submitted by 31.12.2020!
