The junior researcher project "Microplastics in soil - detection, elimination, immobilization and effects" will be successfully completed at the end of 2022.
Together with the mentors Ms. Jana Dörnchen, Prof. Weber, Prof. Scheytt (TU Bergadakemie Freiberg), Prof. Schoenherr and Dr. Schäfer as well as in cooperation with the practice partners, exciting results were presented at conferences and workshops.
Lecture 2 Richter, A.: Effects of microplastics on wheat plants
Lecture 3 Tumwet, F.C.: Factors affecting microplastic transport in quartz sand
Lecture 4 Reuter, M.: Elimination of microplastics in soils using corona roll separators

Over the past three years, Christiane Dittrich, Tomas Kleint, Madlen Reuter, Anne Richter
and Faith Chebet Tumwet have investigated how microplastics are detected, eliminated and immobilized in soil and how soils, compost and plants are affected by them.
We thank you for the good cooperation and wish you all the best for your future careers.
While some will take on new projects and tasks within the university, others will seek challenges in
companies and businesses. We will certainly see you again!
