Professor Sophia Keil and her research group were represented at three international conferences.
In the last two months from April to May, Professor Sophia Keil and her research group attended a total of three international conferences. Research results from the European large-scale research project "iDev40" ("Integrated Development 4.0"), in which Sophia Keil is head of the work package "Skills and Workplaces 4.0 and Smart Collaboration in ECS Supply Chains", were presented at each conference.
On 4 April 2019, Sophia Keil and Fabian Lindner presented a scientific poster at the "2nd European Advances in Digital Transformation Conference (EADTC)" in Milan on the development of a training program for skilled workers in the context of the digital transformation of the high-tech industry. The initial focus was on identifying the skills required to work in a highly digitized and automated working environment or Industry 4.0 with the help of a systematic literature review. Mirrored with the assessment of practitioners - collected through an empirical analysis - these skills will later be stimulated in a practice-oriented training program. Kevin Mühlan and Daniel Winkler also contributed to the poster. The European conference "EADTC", initiated by Prof. Keil and her team as well as Dr. Allmayer and Josef Moser (both Infineon Austria AG), took place for the second time due to high demand and will be held annually in the future. The first E ADTC was held at the Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences in November 2018.
Almost immediately after this conference, Prof. Keil represented the research group and Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences at the "European Advanced Process Control and Manufacturing Conference (apc|m Europe)" from 8 to 10 April in Villach, Austria. She and Fabian Lindner had worked on a presentation in cooperation with Dr. Schneider from Infineon Technologies Dresden GmbH on the opportunities and challenges of digitalization in semiconductor factories and on success factors in their implementation.
A highlight was the presentation of a planning approach for the digitalization of processes in semiconductor factories at the Advanced Semiconductor Manufacturing Conference (ASMC) from 6 to 9 May in Saratoga Springs, New York, USA. Prof. Keil and Mr Lindner were able to present their research results on the development of a digitalization approach with special consideration of the human factor to an international audience of experts from industry and science. The resulting publication, in collaboration with Infineon Technologies Dresden GmbH and the Dresden University of Applied Sciences (HTW), will be published by the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) in the conference proceedings.
