The first "Film Production Assistance" course starts on December 6 in Görlitz.
On December 6, 2021, the Saxon Film Academy will start the first "Film Production Assistance" course in Görlitz after careful development work. The Saxon Film Academy was founded with funding from the Free State of Saxony and the implementation by the Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences as the responsible educational institution and is supported with great emphasis and enthusiasm from politics and the film industry. Its mission is to train specialists in the various areas of film production, for which there is a great need in the region, but also throughout Germany.
The "Film Production Assistance" course consists of a six-week theoretical part, with topics as diverse as film technology, project management, financing, calculation, copyright, sustainability management and team development. For a particularly concentrated and effective learning effect, the lessons will take place in small classes with a maximum of 16 participants.
Experienced personalities from the film production industry will offer their well-founded specialist knowledge for the course participants in short, coherent blocks of two to five days, didactically precise and practice-oriented. They come from Leipzig, Berlin, Babelsberg, Hamburg - and also Görlitz. The list of films in which the lecturers at the Saxon Film Academy have worked is long. Well over 200 television and cinema films.
The six-week theory part is followed by a two- to three-month internship at a major film production company. The Filmakademie will actively support the search for internships with its many contacts in the film industry. The "Film Production Assistance" course is a full-time course and ends with the completion of the internship and a successfully passed exam with a "Film Production Assistance" certificate at the beginning of May 2022.
For the training at the Saxon Film Academy, participants should bring flexibility and a passion for film.
The special introductory price for the "Film Production Assistance" course is 1,490.00 euros.
Further training courses in the areas of "Equipment Assistance" and "Lighting / Camera / Sound Assistance" are currently being planned and are expected to be offered in summer 2022.
Applications for the first " Film Production Assistance" course will be accepted until the end of November 2021.

This measure is co-financed by tax funds on the basis of the budget approved by the Saxon state parliament.
