This year's Chemistry Christmas Show Lecture once again impressively demonstrated that the HSZG campus is a hive of activity.
On December 9, 2024 at 5 p.m., the Audimax of Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences in House Z IV was transformed into a stage full of dance, chemistry and spectacle. This year's Chemistry Christmas Show Lecture, under the motto "Let's Dance dirty - the bear is dancing on campus!", once again turned out to be a unique experience for all visitors.
The show lecture with the team around laboratory manager and main responsible Matthias Jeschke took the audience into the story of a failed dance school owner on the Zittau campus, the dancing bear Detlef D Massimo, who wants to bring new momentum into his life with the help of the charismatic dance teacher Johnny Castle and an exciting dance competition. In addition to witty dialog and a rousing plot, fascinating chemistry experiments made the stage sparkle and shake. Special guests such as the principal of the HSZG, spectacular effects and plenty of humor rounded off the program.
At the beginning, the show and performance group "TABU" from the Burghart dance school really got the audience going - a foretaste of the lively rhythms of the dance competition later on, in which the dancing couple Ria Hübner and Anna Grohmann tried to convince the jury, chaired by the strict juror Mr. Llambi (Prof. Alexander Kratzsch), of their dancing qualities with the Rumba, among other things. Despite the enthusiastic applause from the audience, head juror Llambi only awarded mediocre points, firmly convinced that no dance act in the world would get him full marks. But he hadn't reckoned with the world's best mambo of all time by the third dance couple (Pia Schubert and Marc Gründer), who made all 80s hearts beat faster with their final lift to "Time of my Life" and got the younger audience just as excited. Full marks!
The FSR-N took care of the catering before and after the event! Special thanks go to the team.
Matthias Jeschke, the creative mind behind the show lecture, was delighted with the preparations.
The Rector of the Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences, Prof. Alexander Kratzsch, who was able to take on the special role of (hyper)critical juror this year, was also delighted to be able to take part in the spectacle.
When the doors of the Audimax opened at 4:30 pm, the rows of seats were quickly filled. Whether Hangover, Terminator or Dancing Bear - year after year, the team at the Chemistry Christmas Show Lecture amazes the audience and causes hearty fits of laughter. The mdr radio station was a guest this year and reported after the event. The editor was impressed by the performers' wealth of ideas. With so much attention, don't you start to run out of ideas? Certainly not! Because after the show lecture is before the show lecture.
