Graduate of the Faculty of Social Sciences receives 2024 award from three organizations. Her thesis deals with the concept of class and its significance for social work.
Liana Schall, a social work graduate from the Faculty of Social Sciences at the HSZG, has been awarded the sponsorship prize of the German Professional Association for Social Work (DBSH), the Faculty of Social Work (FBTS) and the German Professional Association for Social Work (DBSH) for her outstanding Bachelor's thesis entitled "Class - relevant for social work? An Approach to the Concept of Class and its Significance for Social Work" received the 2024 sponsorship award from the German Professional Association for Social Work (DBSH), the Faculty of Social Work (FBTS) and the German Society for Social Work (DGSA).
The three organizations aim to promote the development of social work as a profession and discipline and award the prize in recognition of outstanding theses (Bachelor's and Master's) and dissertations in the field of social work. The award is endowed with €1,500.
The award ceremony took place at the Faculty Day Social Work 2024 at the Catholic University of Applied Sciences Berlin. The laudatory speech was given by Caritas board member Gabriele Stark-Angermeier. Other award winners were Hannah Maiwald from Nordhausen University of Applied Sciences and Ellen Bogorinsky from Münster University of Applied Sciences.
The award-winning Bachelor's thesis was supervised by Prof. Dr. Mandy Schulze and Prof. Dr. Andreas Markert and was nominated for the prize.
