At the University of Applied Sciences Zittau/Görlitz (HSZG), Department of Human Resources and Law, a full-time position (40 hours/week) is available at the earliest possible date as part of a federal and state-funded project "Developing, promoting and utilizing potential - attracting professorial staff through internal and external cooperation - ProKoop" in the area of

Appointment Management

to be filled on a temporary basis until 31.12.2028. The position is divisible.

The federal-state program "FH-Personal" enables universities of applied sciences to develop and implement university-specific measures and strategies for the recruitment and qualification of young professors.

The aims of the project include the analysis and optimization of the appointment process and the professionalization of the appointment procedure. This includes the conceptualization and further development of appointment management as well as the development and co-design of innovative tools and methods of personnel development, such as the tandem professorship, taking into account the legal basis.

The position includes the following tasks in particular:

  • Analysis, optimization and further development of administrative processes as part of the appointment procedure,
  • Designing and developing the role of the appointments officer,
  • Development and establishment of process monitoring,
  • Examination of legal issues in the context of the appeal process,
  • Legal advice and support for the Human Resources and Legal Affairs department in establishing new qualification paths such as the tandem professorship,
  • service-oriented cooperation with those involved in the appointment process at the university,
  • legal review of measures and concepts developed as part of the project.

The following knowledge and skills are required

  • Completed academic university degree related to the above-mentioned area of responsibility, preferably in the field of law or administrative sciences,
  • Professional knowledge and/or experience in the public sector or comparable institutions,
  • Situation-, gender- and target group-appropriate approach to stakeholders and a confident manner,
  • Ability to work strategically, conceptually and interdisciplinary,
  • very good written and oral communication skills in German and a working knowledge of English,
  • Presentation and moderation skills.

In addition, the following are desirable

  • Knowledge of the procedures and operation of universities and in particular the legal framework,
  • Knowledge of career paths in science and the specifics of dealing with scientific excellence,
  • Experience in project work.

The remuneration for tariff employees is in EG 13 TV-L if the professional requirements are met. The 1st place of work is Zittau. A probationary period will be agreed.
