It is with great sadness that we bid farewell to our longstanding colleague Dr. Jürgen Scheibler.
It is with great sadness that we bid farewell to our long-time colleague Dr. Jürgen Scheibler, who passed away in the night of 28 to 29 December 2024 after a serious illness.
Dr. Scheibler joined the former Zittau University of Engineering in the 1980s as a research assistant. After completing his doctorate, he initially devoted himself with great dedication to research at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering. He later made a significant impact on the university by establishing and successfully managing the controlling department. The KLB system he developed for planning and accounting for teaching is still in use today and was groundbreaking for the objective assessment of teaching performance.
In the last years of his career, Dr. Scheibler returned to his professional roots to support the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science in teaching. With great dedication and success, he took over the "Electronics" module and inspired many students with his lectures, seminars and practicals.
Dr. Scheibler was not only a highly esteemed expert, but also a collegial and helpful person who shaped our university for decades. His death is a great loss for our university community.
We will always honour the memory of Dr. Jürgen Scheibler.
In silent memory.
