As part of the RUBIN Enviroplast project funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF), the Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences, Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, is seeking to fill a part-time position (20 hours/week) at the earliest possible date as a

Research Assistant (m/f/d) Process Monitoring

- Reference: 43-2024 RUBIN-PÜw -

to be filled for a limited period until 31.05.2027.

The post holder has the following tasks in particular:

Scientific contribution to a clean, decarbonized future based on sustainable engineering plastic parts,
Independent test setup for metrological process monitoring of the FGF process, selection and commissioning of sensors and control technology,
Independent execution of tests for process optimization, scientific evaluation and documentation of the results and derivation of measures for optimization,
Creation of digital twins to optimize the printing process,
Close collaboration with cooperation partners from industry and science,
Attendance at international specialist events (trade fairs, conferences, etc.) for scientific exchange and publication of research results.

The following knowledge and skills are required

University degree in mechanical engineering, process engineering, materials engineering or comparable,
practical experience in additive manufacturing,
practical experience in sensory process monitoring of additive processes,
business fluent in written and spoken English.

In addition, the following are desirable

Experience in the development and design of components suitable for 3D printing,
Experience in the processing and acquisition of research projects,
Experience in the preparation of scientific articles.

If the personal requirements are met, remuneration will be paid up to pay group 13 TV-L. The 1st place of work is Zittau.
