Webinar for lecturers on the topic of promoting student participation and interaction in digital teaching on 27.05.2020 at 15:00.

Digital teaching offers a wide range of potential, but it also comes with some limitations. Compared to face-to-face teaching, "classic" challenges of teaching at universities are often even intensified. Promoting student participation and measures for interaction are not always easy for teachers and students in a digital context. There is often a desire for targeted interaction between participants in a distributed setting.

On 27.05.2020 at 15:00, a shortcut on the topic of promoting student participation and interaction in digital teaching will be offered, to which all interested lecturers are invited. In the webinar, the university didactician of the West Saxon University of Applied Sciences Zwickau, Mr. Stefan Müller, will outline the limits and potentials of digital teaching in terms of student participation and interaction. Approaches and ideas in the areas of designing digital teaching-learning environments and possibilities for incentives and obligations will be critically examined for transferability to your own teaching. The access data was sent to the lecturers by e-mail.

The range of university didactic methods and digital tools used by lecturers at Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences to activate their students during the online phase is extensive. In virtual lectures and webinars, for example, "audience response systems" encourage participation in the form of voting. Electronic tests with the ONYX test suite or Quizlet enable interactive exercises to be carried out and give students feedback on their level of knowledge. Virtual pinboards and collaborative test editors support communication and collaboration in the digital space.

To provide an overview, the staff involved have developed a comprehensive portfolio of tools, methods, advisory services and guidelines and made them available on the website of the Center for eLearning (Zfe).
