Purposes of data processing

Personal data is processed for the purposes of selecting suitable applicants for a Deutschlandstipendium, granting and processing a Deutschlandstipendium during the approval period and excluding double funding after the end of the approval period.

Legal basis

The HSZG processes personal data in the context of the Deutschlandstipendium on the basis of consent pursuant to Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a GDPR and in conjunction with § 3, § 4 para. 2, § 10, § 13 StipG and the StipV.

Recipients

The HSZG discloses personal data that it processes as part of the Deutschlandstipendium to the following recipients exclusively for the purposes of this processing activity:

  • private funding providers
  • Federal Ministry of Education and Research (to avoid double funding in accordance with Section 4 (2) StipG)
  • valucon apps GmbH: Kapuzinerstr. 7, 80337 Munich, Germany (IT service provider)

The HSZG does not transfer personal data to a third country or an international organization.

Storage duration

Without prejudice to the right to erasure(Art. 17 GDPR), personal data will be stored for a period of seven years when a Deutschlandstipendium is granted. The storage period begins with the funding period. Personal data of applicants who cannot be funded by a Deutschlandstipendium for the time being will be stored for a period of one year for succession procedures. The storage period begins at the end of the application and selection process.

Rights of the data subjects

As a person affected by the processing of your personal data, you have the following rights if the legal requirements are met.

  • You have the right to information about the processing of your personal data(Art. 15 GDPR).
  • You have the right to rectification of inaccurate personal data concerning you (Art.16 GDPR)
  • You have the right to erasure of your personal data (Art.17 GDPR).
  • You have the right to request the restriction of the processing of your personal data (Art.18 GDPR)
  • You have the right to data portability of your personal data (Art.20 GDPR)
  • You have the right to object to the processing of your personal data at any time (Art.21 GDPR)
  • You have the right to withdraw your consent to data processing at any time. The lawfulness of the data processing carried out on the basis of your consent until revocation remains unaffected(Art. 13 para. 2 lit. c GDPR).
  • You have the right to lodge a complaint with the Saxon data protection officer (Art.77 GDPR).

Provision of personal data

The provision of personal data is not required by law, but it is necessary for the award of a Deutschlandstipendium scholarship in accordance with(Art. 13 para. 2 lit. e GDPR).
There is no obligation to provide personal data. Failure to provide personal data precludes participation in the application procedure and the award of a Deutschlandstipendium.

Decision-making and profiling

In the "Deutschlandstipendium" processing activity, no automated
decision-making or profiling is carried out in accordance with Art. 22 GDPR.
