Begin 10. April 2025 - 13:00 Uhr
End 10. April 2025 - 17:00 Uhr

Discovering new energies for Saxony: this is the motto of the Saxon Energy Days , which will be held from April 5 to 26 and will focus on renewable energies, climate protection and innovative solutions for a sustainable future. On April 9 and 10, you will also have the opportunity to find out more and take a look behind the scenes of research and application in Zittau. The events are aimed at students and those who want to become students, as well as citizens of all ages who are interested in the energy system.

Day of the open power plant laboratory

In the Zittau power plant laboratory at Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences, scientific issues relating to the flexibilization of thermal energy systems through the use of energy storage systems are investigated and validated in an application-oriented manner. In addition to an electrically heated steam generator and steam storage unit (power to heat), the laboratory is equipped with a thermal battery developed in-house and a heat storage test facility.

On April 10 from 13:00 to 17:00 , interested parties can find out more about the research and development taking place in Zittau. Laboratory manager Torsten Klette and his colleagues look forward to your visit!

The guided tours are suitable for interested young people, students and members of the public. Of course, families with young researchers are also welcome. The event is free of charge.

You can find the Zittau Power Plant Laboratory of the Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences here.
