Social startups, social business - doing good with good economics

In this workshop you will learn new perspectives on entrepreneurship and business models.

Begin 24. June 2020 - 16:00 Uhr
End 24. June 2020 - 19:00 Uhr

Social business refers to companies whose objectives are not solely monetary profit, but above all social benefit. The topics can be diverse: They can include poverty and discrimination in old age, gender inequality, child and adult education, food waste, solving environmental problems and ecological conflicts and many more. The core idea is to find sustainable solutions to social or ecological problems through innovative and entrepreneurial approaches. This requires new perspectives on entrepreneurship and business models.

In the seminar, the following questions will be clarified together with start-up coach Steve Grundig.

- What are social entrepreneurship and social business? What are the differences to traditional business models?

- What opportunities and challenges does the concept of social entrepreneurship entail?

- How can a social enterprise (social startup) be founded and implemented in practice?

The aim of the seminar is to introduce the participants to the topic, to engage them in discussion and exchange and to sensitize them to pursue a social business idea themselves.

The lecturer draws on knowledge and experience, including from his own start-up and numerous start-up support sessions for social start-ups as well as his involvement in the SEND e.V. regional group Saxony (Social Entrepreneurship Netzwerk Deutschland e.V.).
