"Everything in flux? Water in the crisis"

The exhibition at the HSZG!

Begin 01. November 2024 - 08:00 Uhr
End 30. November 2024 - 16:00 Uhr

In the climate crisis, water is not only becoming scarce, but also too warm, increasingly polluted and even deadly in the event of flood disasters. This not only has consequences for important ecosystems such as floodplains and forests, but also threatens people and animals, affects our economy and changes entire regions in Germany. The climate crisis is already a water crisis.

The exhibition by Weiterdenken - Heinrich-Böll-Stiftung Sachsen e. V. "Everything in flux! Water in crisis" provides an overview of the challenges facing our rivers and lakes, groundwater and oceans. How does plastic get from Dresden to the Arctic? Are there "stagnant" rivers? Can wet moors also be managed? Why are our forests burning? Why is the pond disappearing from the village?

The exhibition is part of this year's Environment Day at the HSZG, which has the motto "Too wet, too dry - what now?". Topics include climate change and sustainable development, Zittau's drinking water as a generational task, challenges for wastewater management and water bodies as a sustainable source of heat.
