The Austrian economy is often made up of small and medium-sized enterprises, ranging from traditional craft businesses to high-tech companies. And that's not all: Austria wants to become the most startup-friendly country in Europe by 2020 and is therefore supporting startups with a whole bundle of measures. It is clear that anyone who wants to be successful as an entrepreneur in the SME sector today should not only understand numbers, but also want to shape things and be open to new approaches and ideas. With the part-time Bachelor's degree program in Business Management - a cooperation between the University of Applied Sciences Zittau/Görlitz and the IBS Academy in Vienna - you have the opportunity to expand your practical experience with future-oriented management methods or to gain a foothold in a wide variety of business sectors. The focus of the program is on human resource management, new technologies, internationalization and the application of different management systems.

  • Admission requirements

    You have a state-recognized qualification:

    • a commercial academy or vocational secondary school (BHS) in Austria
    • a secondary school for business or tourism professions in Austria
    • as a business economist in Germany

    The degree can be credited with up to 60 ECTS points. If there are fewer ECTS points , the missing points must first be earned through full-time business studies at the Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences.

  • Target group

    The part-time Bachelor's degree course in Business Management is aimed at professionals who have successfully completed training in the fields of commerce, business or tourism and generally want to qualify for management roles.

    You should be interested in taking a holistic view of business processes and have an understanding of figures as well as a high level of stamina. In addition, you should be prepared to actively incorporate the course content into your everyday working life or your practical experience in the classroom.

  • Study content

    The Business Management degree program includes online lectures (20 percent), which are held live, as well as attendance phases (80 percent), which enable direct exchange with your lecturers and fellow students.

  • Study objective

    The degree course is offered with the aim of training specialists for use in corporate management. It is characterized by an interdisciplinary form of acquiring skills and teaching material.

    This gives students the opportunity to

    • qualify at an academic level while working,
    • acquire generalist knowledge for the management of companies and
    • develop their methodological, communicative and personal skills in addition to their business management expertise.
  • Tuition fees

    The tuition fee is a minimum of 8,945 euros (with credit for prior knowledge) and a maximum of 11,948 euros (without credit for prior knowledge). The costs include: Registration fee, access to the online learning platform, digital scripts, examination fee and assessment of the Bachelor's thesis. You will not incur any further expenses during the course of your studies.

  • Career prospects

    As a graduate of the part-time Bachelor's degree course in Business Management, you are qualified as a future manager with a focus on small and medium-sized enterprises.

    You also have the opportunity to continue studying for a Master's degree to deepen your business management knowledge or specialize.
