They can supplement and relate their practical knowledge to theoretical knowledge as part of their studies. However, this is not a prerequisite for the course, as students who come straight from school also learn step-by-step how to enter the healthcare sector. Small seminar groups enable close contact between students and professors.

  • Study objectives and content

The degree course "Management in Healthcare" is a response to the constantly increasing demand for interdisciplinary qualified personnel. The aim of the degree course is to train specialists and managers for a variety of roles in the healthcare sector.

Students acquire broad specialist knowledge from the fields of management, medicine and health science as well as methodological knowledge, particularly in the field of empirical social research. During the course of the degree , students specialize in the field of health economics through the modules Health Economics, Inpatient and Outpatient Care and Innovations in Healthcare. Students learn about the management of clinics and medical practices using specific practical examples. In a computer-based simulation game, students take on the role of a managing director and learn to make decisions and analyze their effects - almost like in real life.

In addition, renowned experts from various institutions report in regular lecture series, thus enabling a mutual transfer between science and practice.
