The main thing is digital!

Several contributions from colleagues were presented at the Workshops on E-Learning at HTWK Leipzig.

The 17th Workshops on E-Learning (WeL) took place at Leipzig University of Applied Sciences at the end of 2019 under the motto "Mainly digital? One aim was to answer the question of "whether digitalization should be comprehensive at all costs and teaching should be fully supported by technology".

Keynote

Christiane Arndt from Hamburg University of Technology gave the keynote speech at the Workshops on E-Learning. She reported on the "BRIDGING" project, which examines the transfer of digital higher education concepts to specialist disciplines from both a content and process perspective.

Workshop sessions

The workshop sessions were then opened by Dr. Antje Tober and Michaela Heidig with the event Online placement tests in the field of foreign languages. They presented the tandem project "Online Language Placement (OLP)", with a focus on OPAL/ONYX online placement tests for the foreign languages English and German.

Other topics included: Learning analytics, digital skills, blended learning approaches, opportunities for technology-supported teaching, learning cultures, item pool management, digitalized measurement technology lab and much more.

Contributions

The following contributions were presented by employees of the Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences:

The participants agreed that "digitizing teaching comprehensively and completely at all costs" is of course not a solution. Rather, it is important that teachers design information and manage the learning process in such a way that learning can take place as effectively and efficiently as possible.
