W2-Professorship " Engineering Mathematics" - Code number: NM-001-

The position includes the representation of the above-mentioned appointment area in teaching and research, in particular with the following focal points:

• Engineering mathematics,
• Numerical methods.

The teaching duties are to be carried out in lectures, seminars, exercises, practicals and projects or in continuing education. The range of courses on offer must be secured throughout the university. If necessary, courses related to the area of appointment are to be taken on.

Appointment requirements

• A completed academic university degree in mathematics or related fields,
• a proven pedagogical aptitude in teaching or training,
• special aptitude for academic work, which is usually demonstrated by the quality of a doctorate,
• knowledge in the use of software to solve mathematical engineering problems,
• special achievements in the application or development of scientific knowledge and methods, demonstrated e.g. in research achievements beyond the doctorate and in a professional practice of generally five years, of which at least three years must have been spent outside the university sector.

• the continuous commitment to independently carry out research and development tasks in the field of application-oriented mathematics and related areas in addition to your teaching duties,

• active participation in knowledge and technology transfer projects.
