NGO "DapaViva" from Colombia visits the HSZG

As a partner of the NGO "DapaViva", the HSZG supports the preservation and protection of the mountain cloud forests in Colombia

Ana Milena Jimenez, the chairwoman of the non-governmental organization (NGO) "DapaViva" from Colombia, was a guest at Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences in the Faculty of Mathematics/Natural Sciences in Zittau in January and February. Armin Hirche, an ecology student at HSZG who has been working for the NGO for three years, worked with Ana on research projects in the Dapa region. (Tip: Read Armin Fischer's article about the work on site on the Green CampusBlog)

At various meetings with Prof. Christa Heidger, Prof. Bernd Delakowitz and the Rector Prof. Friedrich Albrecht, a lively exchange of ideas took place and promising ideas for further cooperation were developed. The aim now is to bring these ideas to life. Both partners, the Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences and the NGO "DapaViva" from Colombia, will contribute creatively to this. "DapaViva" is concerned with the preservation and protection of the cloud forests of the western Andes.
