New rectorate takes up work

On March 26, 2025, the Rectorate met for the first time in its new composition for the first joint meeting.

The new Rectorate of Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences officially began its work with today's constituent meeting. After the Senate elected the new Vice Rectors on March 17, the university's management team is now complete.

The Rectorate is made up of Rector Prof. Dr.-Ing. Alexander Kratzsch, Chancellor Christoph Duscha, Vice Rector Education and Sustainability Prof.in Dr. phil. Małgorzata Maćkowiak and Vice Rector Research, Transfer and Internationalization Prof. Sophia Keil.

At the first meeting, the focus was on organizational issues relating to the rules of procedure as well as content-related topics. Together, they set the course for the strategic development of the university.

"I am looking forward to working with my colleagues and our Chancellor. Together, we will continue to develop the Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences and position it for the future in the long term," emphasizes Rector Prof. Kratzsch.

Following the constituent meeting, work will now begin to prioritize the implementation of the University Development Strategy 2030+ over the next few years and thus the orientation and positioning of Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences in order to master the challenges of the future - for the university and its students, the region and beyond.
