At the very beginning, Sadok Fennira wanted to go to Hamburg. However, he lacked three points to study there. He needed 67 points in the German Language Test for University Entrance (DSH). Giving up was out of the question for the Tunisian-born student. With the aim of studying in Germany, he came across the website of the Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences on the internet. He liked what he saw and so, a short time later, he started a mechanical engineering-studies at the HSZG. A decision he has never regretted.
The final portrait in the three-part video series 'hier_angekommen' shows that his fighting spirit not only inspired him to choose where he wanted to study, but also accompanies the passionate sportsman in training every day. Under the title "A Tunisian between mechanical engineering and competitive sport" , Sadok reports on how he reconciles his passion for sport and his great interest in technical contexts.

The three-part video series 'hier_angekommen' by the Public Relations Office presents students who have made Upper Lusatia their home after leaving their home country to study. Ecology and environmental protection-Student Nino Gehler from Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania kicked off the series in November 2017 and was followed by Johanna Schubert from Franconia. She has mechanical engineering first studied mechanical engineering at the Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences on the KIA diploma course and then completed her Master's degree. The videos tell the story of three different young people who have one thing in common: With their decision to study at the Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences, they have found a new home in the border triangle.
Here you can find the film about Nino Gehler: "hier_angekommen: Ein Nordlicht zwischen Gartenschaufel und Bunsenbrenner" and about Johanna Schubert "hier_angekommen: A Franconian between plastic, child & constructions".
