Jörg Heidig's dissertation is entitled "Proactive actions in public administration".
Jörg Heidig defended his dissertation on February 28, 2018 in the ballroom of the Faculty of Economics at the Technical University of Dresden and passed the defense with a very good result. The Zittau native thus joins the ranks of communication psychologists at the Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences who now hold a doctorate.
Jörg Heidig completed his doctoral studies at the International University Institute Zittau. His dissertation is entitled "Proactive actions in public administration".
The subject of the thesis was the question of how the scope for action that arises during the implementation of administrative tasks is used. The relationships between the people involved determine whether and how an intention to act proactively can unfold or not. The decisive factor appears to be the "backing" of at least one superior. The organizational science topic sheds light on how changes in organizational culture in public authorities are made possible by the actions of superiors and employees.
The doctoral committee consisted of the examiners Prof. Dr. Thorsten Claus (IHI), Prof. Dr. Matthias Schmidt (Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences) and the reviewers Prof. Dr. Albert Löhr (IHI Zittau), Prof. Dr. em. Herbert Bock (Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences) and Prof. Dr. Frank Schirmer (TU Dresden). The doctoral committee praised the results and their significance for future organizational development projects. Mr. Heidig has been successfully involved in many projects at the Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences in recent years, has been a lecturer at several faculties and has worked in the field of continuing education for teaching staff. His connection to the university remains intact even after his doctorate, as he is Chairman of the Board of the Institute for Communication, Information and Education (KIB e.V.) and is involved in a wide range of projects to transfer science into practice.
