The tri-national youth parliament (Germany, Czech Republic and Poland) takes place twice a year in the St. Marienthal monastery. The young people from the border triangle attend various qualification seminars on different topics. Career orientation" is an important topic within the framework of the youth parliament.
Pupils in years 8 and 9 gain an insight into various occupational fields, in particular vocational training opportunities in the region. The pupils from Zittau, Hradek and Bogatynia discussed this topic on March 5, 2017 in the St. Marienthal monastery.
The Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences was one of the invited stakeholders from the region and provided a wealth of information about studying. The university staff, Alina Ivanova, study scout from the Faculty of Business Administration and Engineering Management, and Jörg Bienert, study scout from the Faculty of Management and Cultural Studies, advised the pupils on the range of courses on offer. The students from the Czech Republic and Poland were informed in detail about the admission requirements for studying at the university. In a relaxed atmosphere, the pupils asked many questions about studying and student life in Zittau and Görlitz.
