Largest cooperation exchange in the three-country region

"Lusatia - Life & Technology" as a guest at the 30th Polish-German-Czech Cooperation Forum in Karpacz, Poland.

On November 16, 2023, the 30th Polish-German-Czech Cooperation Forum took place in the Polish city of Karpacz (PL), which was attended by over 500 guests to discuss social and economic change in the Polish-Saxon-Czech border region. Almost 600 individual meetings were arranged in advance between the participants from the three countries, who come from the metal and plastics processing, mechanical and plant engineering, energy and environmental technology and construction sectors, among others.

For the 30th time, the forum enabled small and medium-sized companies, networks and research institutions to present their products and services, exchange experiences and establish direct trade and business contacts with companies from Poland, Germany and the Czech Republic.

"Our economy and society are facing enormous challenges: Decarbonization and environmental sustainability, digitalization, demographics and labour shortages. Innovations and future technologies are the key to overcoming these challenges," said Martin Dulig, Minister at the Saxon State Ministry of Economic Affairs, Labour and Transport, in his welcoming address, highlighting the very regular exchange between people, companies and the governments of the regions.

Our cross-border economic cooperation over the past 30 years has been an incredible success story. Today, Poland and the Czech Republic are by far Saxony's most important trading partners in Europe.
Thomas Horn, Managing Director of Wirtschaftsförderung Sachsen GmbH

With "Lusatia - Life & Technology", we are actively participating in the cooperation forum for the second time with a joint stand together with the Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences. For us, it was a great opportunity not only to get to know the business landscape in Poland better, but also to talk to regional players. "Thanks to the B2B cooperation exchange, we were able to actively introduce ourselves to partners in addition to the discussions at the joint stand, present our expertise in the fields of innovation via projects in the areas of energy or additive manufacturing and identify future project partners who have indicated an interest in collaborating on further research projects," says L&T project coordinator Leonie Liemich, sharing her impression of the cooperation forum. At the same time, contacts with Czech partners from the German-Czech border region were also strengthened.

The grand finale was the anniversary celebration: 30 years of the Krkonoše Agency for Regional Development KARR S.A. coupled with the 20th anniversary of the partnership between the Lower Silesian Voivodeship and the Czech regions of Reichenberg, Königgrätz and Pardubice.

Thank you very much!

Special thanks go to the Giant Mountains Agency and in particular to the Managing Director Hubert Papaj together with his great team for the inspiring moments during the participation in the forum and his contribution to strengthening the Polish-German-Czech economic cooperation in our border region. It was a great experience in a great atmosphere.
