Researchers are invited to the workshop on October 01, 2021.
Researchers at the HSCG are once again invited to hone their presentation skills in a workshop with speech coach Anna Strittmatter.
While presentations at specialist conferences are probably all about content, content and more content, it's a different story with non-specialist audiences. As a scientist, I cannot assume that politicians or business representatives understand basic technical terms such as "audit" or "sector coupling". Even less that they are interested in derivations, calculations or diagrams.
This is where the workshop organized by the Saxony5 team at the HSZG comes in: "Presenting research to a non-specialist audience in an exciting and confident way". Interested researchers at the HSZG can take part free of charge. (Don't forget to ask your supervisor for permission)
When: 1.10.2021, 9:00 am - 4:30 pm
Where: GI 1.20, Campus Görlitz
Please register at saxony5@hszg.de
A maximum of six people will be admitted in order to be able to work intensively.
A successful workshop with helpful input for the transfer work at the HSZG. Presenting complex project content in a more structured and understandable way in front of the camera and arousing interest in your research topics among your audience - that's what the workshop taught me!" Leonie Liemich, Project Coordinator Life and Technology
Anna taught me how to present my research in a clear and exciting way. She has a lot of experience in directly training people who are often in the public eye. What impressed me most was her pleasant way of conveying rhetorical tricks and assessing her own skills and development opportunities in a relaxed and honest manner. The camera shots of me in presentation situations were not easy for me at first, but the intensive and appreciative reflection enabled me to take a lot away with me and since then I feel much more comfortable before important presentations."
