Prof. Dr.-Ing. habil. Karl-Heinz Wolf received recognition for his many years of close association with the HSZG.
In its deliberations on April 18, 2016, the Senate decided to award the Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences Medal of Honor - donated by the Förderverein der Hochschule Zittau/Görlitz e. V. - to Prof. Dr.-Ing. habil. Karl-Heinz Wolf in recognition of his many years of close association with the Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences, particularly in the development and safeguarding of teaching in the Molecular Biotechnology course and the practical training of students.
This was preceded by a qualified proposal from Senator Prof. Annett Fuchs, Dean of the Faculty of Natural and Environmental Sciences. Prof. Wolf's proven expertise in bioprocess engineering issues, his continuous commitment to the further development of the curriculum and his participation in specialist conferences and events of the Faculty of Natural and Environmental Sciences, which goes far beyond the commitment of a lecturer, are particularly noteworthy, according to the explanatory statement.
The award was accepted by Prof. Dr. Friedrich Albrecht, Rector; Prof. Dr. Annett Fuchs, Dean of the Faculty of Natural and Environmental Sciences, and Prof. Reinhardt Hassa, Chairman of the Friends of the Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences.
Prof. Wolf expressed his gratitude for the honor bestowed upon him and will gladly continue to contribute to teaching in the Molecular Biotechnology course as far as he is able.
The University of Applied Sciences Zittau/Görlitz can award personalities who have rendered outstanding services to the development and reputation of the university with the title of Honorary Senator or the Honorary Medal of the University of Applied Sciences Zittau/Görlitz. Honorary senators have rendered services to the development of the university as a whole, recipients of the medal of honor have rendered services to the development of individual departments. The two previous recipients of the Medal of Honor are from the fields of engineering and social sciences.
